The myth of motherhood (KidCareCanada PPD series)
This video, created by KidCareCanada, explores the myth that exists in our society that all mothers naturally feel joyous, content, and delighted to be with their infants at all times. New mothers may feel guilty about wanting a break from her baby or having mixed feelings about motherhood. The reality is that these feelings are normal. Friends and family members can help the mother by offering empathy, understanding and support, and by avoiding criticism, judgment or comparisons with other parents.
