Description:
This video, created by KidCareCanada, discusses how a “good” mother takes care of herself so she can take care of her child. Self-care is not a luxury, it is a necessity. New parents may need help with baby care in order to have time to care for themselves. Self-care can be as basic as remembering to eat nourishing food, drink plenty of water, and take deep breaths. Getting enough sleep, a minimum of six hours over a 24-hour period, is often crucial. Exercise, relaxation, and time to connect with others and seek support are also important self-care tools for new parents.
